[24.11.2021] Laureates of the 5th Camera Jagellonica competition have been selected

[24.11.2021] Laureates of the 5th Camera Jagellonica competition have been selected

On 24 November, the results of the fifth jubilee edition of the Camera Jagellonica competition were announced. In addition to photographs in the 'Architecture', 'Student Life' and 'Impressions' categories, participants were also able to submit their work on the theme of ecology (the 'There was an Earth' category). A complete new addition to Camera Jagellonica this year was the possibility of preparing short videos. We are delighted to announce that the jubilee edition of the competition attracted a record number of submissions - more than 250 photos and films!

Unfortunately, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the announcement of the results of the Competition was held via the Internet for the second year in a row. Before finding out about the laureates of this year's Camera Jagiellonica edition, the Rector of Jagiellonian University, Professor Jacek Popiel, addressed the audience: ‘Our competition is an opportunity to look at the University not only in terms of history, but also the present and even the future. I find it very pleasing that the previous categories have been joined by a perspective on ecological thought, on how the world perceives the threats that have emerged in recent years in particular. I congratulate all those who have been granted the awards, with the belief that everyone, who took part in the competition has been able to manifest their vision of the University.’
